New Zealand has recently announced an end to single-family zoning in its five biggest cities, with the goal of encouraging more medium density construction to predominantly single-family areas. Not surprisingly, this is drawing the attention of both Vancouver city planners and housing advocates in BC. Would implementing a similar change to zoning in BC help to alleviate the Vancouver housing crisis by increasing access to more affordable housing?
